Water pump for the Ferrari 360. Capristo offers it as a completely revised replacement for the original pump of the 3.6 V8, not as a copy of the factory part.

What is different

• Aluminium die-cast impeller;
• Square-cut fitting between impeller and shaft, which rules out the impeller turning independently of the shaft.

That joint is the known weak point. Once the impeller slips, coolant circulation falls away while everything still appears to run: the belt turns, the pulley turns, and the first sign is a rising temperature gauge. On a mid-engined car with long coolant runs to the front radiators, that is not a failure you want to diagnose twice.

Build and fitment

Made at Capristo's own factory in Sundern, Germany, to the original dimensions. It mounts in the standard position with the factory gasket and fixings, no modification to the block or the housing.

Before you order

• Dedicated 360 part number, not interchangeable with the 348 and F355 pump;
• Worth doing at the same time as a timing belt service, since the access work overlaps;
• Replace the o-ring and check the drive pulley condition while the pump is out.
