Sport cats for the Maserati Quattroporte Trofeo, Quattroporte GTS and Ghibli Trofeo with the 3.8 twin-turbo V8. The pair replaces the factory catalysts left and right, where a turbocharged V8 loses most of its exhaust note.

Two versions

• 250 cell sport cats (02MA07103011) - closer to standard behaviour;
• 100 cell sport cats (02MA07103017) - the freer flowing option, louder and harder.

Why the housing size matters

Flow is lost if the substrate is squeezed into a narrow can, so Capristo packages its sport cats in 5.2 inch housings. The valved exhaust then works as intended: with the flaps closed there is enough back pressure for low-rev torque and catalyst temperature, with them open the free-flow characteristic is used in full.

Material and heat protection

1.4828 (AISI T309) stainless steel, hand polished, with custom hand-sewn heat blankets that lower under-bonnet temperatures and protect bodywork, hoses and paint from residual heat.
