Catalyst section for the Aston Martin DBS V12 and DB9. Capristo offers three ways to replace the heavy factory converters, from a quiet compromise to a full sport catalyst.

Three versions

• Silenced cat bypass pipes (02AM01803002) - the pair keeps a damping element, so the car gains flow without becoming extreme;
• Unsilenced cat bypass pipes (02AM01803003) - the loudest and freest option, for track use;
• Sport cats with 100 cpi (02AM01803004) - a catalyst stays in the system while the restriction drops.

What it changes

Test pipes take the flow restriction of the converter out of the system and raise power; removing the converters also removes their silencing effect, which is where the harder V12 note comes from.

Details that matter on installation

The lambda sensor bungs come pre-installed and threaded, so the original sensors go straight back in. On the applicable models the centre section is made flexible, which protects the header pipes from vibration damage.

Before you order

• These parts do not fit the V8 models, only the V12;
• Bypass pipes are intended for track days and racing; road use without converters is restricted in most markets;
• Expect a check engine light after a full cat delete and plan for a simulator.
