Carbon rear diffuser for the Ferrari 458 Speciale. It replaces the original diffuser under the rear bumper and carries its own part number, because the Speciale rear end differs from the Italia and the Spider.

What changes

The diffuser is the largest carbon surface at the back of the car, so it defines the rear view more than any smaller trim piece. Shape and channel geometry follow the original part, so underbody airflow is unchanged: this is an upgrade in material and finish, not an aerodynamic modification.

How the carbon is made

Layers of prepreg hand-laid into Capristo's own moulds, cured in an autoclave or press, then lacquered by hand. The weave matches the fabric the car manufacturer uses, which keeps the pattern consistent with the factory carbon already fitted to a Speciale.

Good to know

• Two part numbers: LG for gloss lacquer, LM for matt;
• Mounting hardware is included and the factory fixing points are used;
• The Italia and Spider diffuser is a different part, do not order across models;
• Carbon tolerates the heat cycling behind the exhaust better than a painted plastic panel.
