Carbon rear diffuser for the Ferrari 458 Italia. It replaces the original diffuser under the rear bumper and is offered in gloss or matt lacquer.

What changes

The diffuser is the largest single carbon surface at the back of the car, so it does more for the rear view than any trim piece. It keeps the shape and the channel geometry of the original part, which means the airflow under the car is unchanged - this is a material and appearance upgrade, not an aero modification.

How the carbon is made

The weave matches what Ferrari uses, so the diffuser lines up with factory carbon on the same car. Layers of prepreg are hand-laid into Capristo's own moulds, cured in an autoclave or press, then lacquered by hand. Carbon does not rust and tolerates the heat cycling it sees behind the exhaust better than a painted plastic part.

Good to know

• Two part numbers: LG for gloss, LM for matt;
• Mounting hardware is included and the factory fixing points are used;
• The same diffuser is listed for the 458 Spider, the Speciale has its own part;
• Fitting does not require removal of the exhaust.
