OPF/GPF replacement pipes for the Ferrari 296 GTB and GTS, built for the original valve actuators. The pair of non-silenced sections takes the place of the factory particulate filter assembly on the 3.0 V6 hybrid and keeps the standard electric valve control, so the car switches between quiet and open exactly as it did before.

What changes

• The filter is the largest restriction in the standard 296 exhaust; removing it frees up flow and adds power and torque;
• Clearly lighter than the stock assembly, and the weight comes off the rear of the car;
• A deeper, harder V6 note, with the biggest difference heard with the valves open.

Material and build

Designed by reverse engineering: the car is scanned, the CAD model drives the whole process, and the finished pipes are optimised for both packaging and flow. Manufacturing in Sundern, Germany, with manual TIG welding.

Before you order

• Removing the filter can set a check engine light; Capristo offers the OBD Wizard for this;
• Road use without a particulate filter is restricted in many markets, so check the local rules first;
• Works with the OEM rear section and with Capristo sport cats or race downpipes.
