Straight link pipes for the Ferrari Portofino. The section replaces the standard centre part of the exhaust on the 3.9 twin-turbo V8 with straight, unsilenced pipes, so the gases run from the downpipes to the rear silencer without the factory damping in between.

What it changes

• Less restriction in the middle of the system, where the standard Portofino exhaust holds back both flow and sound;
• A fuller V8 note with the rear flaps open, and a noticeably deeper tone even when they are closed;
• Less weight than the original centre section.

On a turbocharged car this section matters more than on an atmospheric one: the turbos already absorb much of the exhaust noise, so every element after them has to be freer if the engine is to be heard at all.

Material and build

1.4828 (AISI T309) stainless steel, mandrel-bent and hand TIG welded in Sundern, Germany. The alloy is specified for exhaust temperatures above 600 °C.

Good to know

• Works with the OEM rear silencer and with the Capristo valved rear section;
• The catalysts are not touched, so emissions equipment and diagnostics stay as they are;
• Bolt-on fit into the OEM mounting points;
• Does not fit the Portofino M.
