X-pipe centre section for the Ferrari F12 berlinetta. The link pipes replace the factory centre section between the downpipes and the rear silencers, where the standard exhaust of the 6.3 V12 narrows noticeably.

Why an X-pipe

The X junction lets the two cylinder banks share the same volume. Pulses even out, the firing order is heard as one V12 rather than two sixes, and the mid range gains body. In practice this is the step that makes the rear silencer sound fuller without any extra loudness at idle.

Material and build

1.4828 (AISI T309) stainless steel, mandrel-bent and manually TIG welded in Sundern, Germany, then polished. The alloy is specified for exhaust temperatures above 600 °C.

Good to know

• Same part for the F12, 812 Superfast and 812 GTS;
• The factory catalysts stay in place, so emissions equipment and the OBD system are untouched;
• Works with the OEM rear silencers as well as with the Capristo valved set;
• Lighter than the factory centre section, with the same polished finish as the Capristo silencers;
• Bolt-on into the OEM mounting points, no welding on the car.
