Pre-silencer delete pipes for the Audi S8 D4 and S8 Plus D4 with the 4.0 TFSI EA824 biturbo V8. These lightweight pipes fit in place of the heavy original pre-silencer, the damping chamber that sits ahead of the rear section.

What changes

Removing the pre-silencer takes a flow restriction out of the middle of the system and drops weight with it. The damping effect of that chamber disappears, so what the rear silencer lets through is no longer pre-softened and the engine is heard more directly.

Material and build

T309 (1.4828) stainless steel, rated for continuous temperatures above 600 C, hand TIG welded and polished in Sundern, Germany. The pipes are developed on 3D laser scans of the original part and go into the existing mounting points.

Before you order

• The pipes only work together with the Capristo exhaust system, not with the standard rear section;
• They fit cars built from 2012 to 2018, including the S8 Plus;
• Capristo supplies them for off-road and track use;
• Installation is reversible, the standard pre-silencer can be refitted.
