Valved rear silencer for the Maserati Quattroporte with the 4.2 and 4.7 V8. The section replaces the factory rear mufflers and keeps the car civil in town, because the flaps follow load and revs rather than staying open.

Two versions

• Long version (02MA07103001);
• Short version (02MA07103002).

The length depends on the body and model year, so check which centre section your car runs before ordering - the two are not interchangeable.

How the valves work

Capristo controls the flaps by exhaust back pressure. On cars that left the factory without flap control, the programmable Capristo control unit has to be ordered separately; on cars that have the factory system, the standard signal is used.

Material and build

1.4828 (AISI T309) stainless steel, manually TIG welded and hand polished in Sundern, Germany.

Before you order

• The X-pipe centre section is a separate part and fits only cars from model year 2008;
• Supplied without German type approval, so road use is restricted in Germany and in some other markets;
• Capristo points out that the car should not be revved hard while standing still;
• Bolt-on into the OEM mounting points.
