Rear silencer for the Lamborghini Diablo with the 5.7 and 6.0 litre V12. The Diablo left the factory with a heavily damped rear box, and on a car of this age it is usually also the part that has corroded first.

How it works

The silencer uses a shorter gas path and less damping volume than the original, so the twelve-cylinder is heard with its own voice rather than through a factory filter. Weight drops at the same time, and on the rear overhang of a mid-engined car that is felt.

Material and build

T309 (1.4828) stainless steel, rated for continuous temperatures above 600 C, hand TIG welded and polished to a mirror finish in Sundern, Germany. Capristo has built parts for these cars since they were current, so the fit follows the original mounting points.

Before you order

• The part fits both the 5.7 and the 6.0 litre cars;
• Sport cats for the Diablo are a separate part;
• Stainless steel does not rust, unlike the original mild steel silencer;
• Installation is reversible, the standard silencer can be refitted.
