Valved rear silencer for the Ferrari California (2008-2014, 4.3 V8). Known as the Twin Sound system, it replaces the factory rear muffler section and gives the car two clearly different characters: closed flaps for town, open flaps for load.

Power and sound

Capristo quotes roughly 17 to 19 hp from the freer flow of the system. The gain comes from the larger internal cross sections and the straighter gas path, not from any change to the engine software.

Material and build

1.4828 (AISI T309) stainless steel, hand TIG welded and polished to a mirror finish in Sundern, Germany. The alloy was picked for its acoustic behaviour, low weight and durability, properties close to the Inconel used in motorsport.

Valve control

The flaps are opened and closed by the engine ECU, exactly like the factory system, and the OEM vacuum lines plug straight into the Capristo valves. The remote kit is optional and gives manual loud and quiet modes from the cabin.
