Cat-back exhaust system for the Aston Martin DBS V12 and DB9. It is not a tailpipe swap: the kit consists of an unsilenced centre section and a rear silencer with valves on both outlets, so the whole system behind the catalysts is replaced.

What it changes

Capristo keeps the original back pressure values in mind rather than simply opening everything up, which is how the V12 keeps its torque delivery while gaining voice. With the flaps closed the car stays usable, with them open the 6.0 twelve cylinder is heard properly.

Material and build

Heat-resistant 1.4828 (AISI T309) stainless steel, welded entirely by hand in a TIG process and polished to a high gloss in Sundern, Germany, with a final quality check on every system.

Valve control

The EVCU-1 programmable controller with remote is a separate part. It is the usual choice on cars that have no factory flap control of their own.

Before you order

• Capristo lists the system for racing purposes only, so check local rules before road use;
• Fitment covers the DB9 of 2004-2016 and the DBS V12 of 2008-2012; dealers also list it for Rapide, Virage and Vanquish, so confirm by chassis;
• Cat bypass pipes and 100 cpi sport cats are separate positions for the same cars.
