Cat-back exhaust system for the Maserati Coupe 4200 and Spyder. The kit consists of a pair of silenced tailpipe sections with vacuum-operated valves, and the valve control unit and remote are included rather than sold separately.

What is in the kit

• Two silenced rear sections with pneumatic (vacuum) valve actuators;
• Valve control unit;
• Remote control.

With the remote you open and close the flaps from the cabin; closed, the car keeps a deeper but restrained tone.

Approval

The system carries ECE approval, which is rare for a cat-back on a car of this age and makes road use straightforward in markets that accept it.

Material and build

Stainless steel 309, hand polished, developed specifically for the 4200 - not adapted from another Maserati.

Options

An unsilenced centre section is available separately in two forms: a straight pair of parallel pipes or an X-pipe. Both delete the centre silencer and emphasise the V8; the X-pipe mixes the banks and sounds rounder.
