Exhaust system for the Audi S8 D5 with the 4.0 TFSI EA825 biturbo V8. The D5 is built around isolation, so almost everything the engine does acoustically is filtered out before it reaches the cabin, and the rear section is where that is decided.

Two versions

• Anodized tailpipes with alu sleeve, straight cut, for the OEM actuators (02AU09403014);
• Anodized tailpipes with alu sleeve, oblique cut, for the OEM actuators (02AU09403022).

Both work with the car's own flap actuators, so the standard driving modes keep control of the valves and the car stays quiet when it should be.

How it works

The valves stay closed at light load. Opened, the gas path shortens and bypasses the damping chambers, which is where the volume and the sharper response come from.

Material and build

T309 (1.4828) stainless steel, rated above 600 C, hand TIG welded and polished to a mirror finish in Sundern, Germany.

Before you order

• Tailpipe cut is chosen with the system, the finish is the same on both;
• Downpipes for the D5 are a separate part;
• Installation uses the original mounting points and is reversible.
