Exhaust system for the Audi RS6 C7 with the 4.0 TFSI EA824 biturbo V8. The hot-vee layout puts the turbochargers inside the vee, so almost all of the sound is absorbed before the exhaust even starts, and the system behind them has to give it back.

How it works

The valves stay closed at light load, so cruising noise is close to standard. Opened, the gas path shortens and bypasses the damping chambers, which is where the volume and the sharper response come from.

Material and build

T309 (1.4828) stainless steel, rated for continuous temperatures above 600 C, hand TIG welded and polished to a mirror finish in Sundern, Germany. The parts are engineered with 3D laser scanning, CAD and CNC bending from the original pipework.

Before you order

• The standard RS6 silencers are heavy, the Capristo parts take weight off the rear axle;
• The system suits cars with the factory flap control;
• Tailpipes are chosen separately, several shapes are available;
• Installation uses the original mounting points and is reversible.
