Exhaust system for the Audi RS4 B7 with the 4.2 FSI V8. This is the high-revving naturally aspirated generation, and the standard system damps it hard on the way out of the car.

How it works

The valves sit in the rear silencer and stay closed at light load, so everyday noise is close to standard. Opened, the gas path shortens and bypasses the damping chambers, and the V8 is heard as it sounds without the factory restriction.

Material and build

T309 (1.4828) stainless steel, hand TIG welded and polished to a mirror finish in Sundern, Germany. The system is developed on 3D laser scans of the original pipework, so it bolts to the standard hangers and connections.

Before you order

• The system is lighter than the stock parts it replaces;
• Tailpipes are chosen separately, Capristo offers several shapes;
• Installation is reversible, the standard system can be refitted;
• B7 cars are now old enough that rusted original clamps and hangers often need replacing at the same time.
