Exhaust manifolds for the early Ferrari Testarossa (1985-1987). The set replaces the factory headers of the 4.9 flat-12 and is the European specification, built for cars without the later catalyst layout.

Why the headers matter on this car

The flat-12 has two banks of six with long, tightly packed runs to the rear silencer. The standard manifolds are the restriction point; replacing them changes both how freely the engine revs past 4000 rpm and how the car sounds, which a rear silencer alone cannot do on a Testarossa.

Material and build

1.4828 (AISI T309) stainless steel, manually TIG welded and hand polished to a mirror finish in Sundern, Germany. The headers go onto the OEM mounting points; nothing on the chassis or heat shielding needs to be modified.

Good to know

• Built for the 1985-1987 cars; later Testarossa and 512 versions use different part numbers because of the catalyst equipment;
• US specification cars are served by a separate set that comes with pre-cat connector pipes;
• Can be combined with Capristo pre-cat replacement pipes and sport secondary cats;
• On a car of this age, check the condition of the studs and gaskets before fitting.
