Cat delete downpipes for the Audi S8 D4, S8 Plus and the S6 and S7 of the 4G series with the 4.0 TFSI EA824 biturbo V8. The lightweight pipes fit in place of the heavy standard catalytic converters and replace OEM parts 4G0254202NX and 4G0254252LX.

Dimensions

Inside diameter 62 mm, outside diameter 65 mm, so the section is wider than the standard catalyst throat.

What changes

Downpipes are the first section after the turbochargers, where gas is hottest and back pressure matters most. Removing the catalysts there lets the turbos unload faster, so spool and throttle response change before anything is even heard.

Material and build

T309 (1.4828) stainless steel, rated above 600 C, hand TIG welded in Sundern, Germany, developed on 3D laser scans of the original parts.

Before you order

• ECU programming is required so the oxygen sensor monitoring does not set a fault;
• The parts fit cars from 2012 to 2018 including the S8 Plus;
• Capristo supplies them for off-road and track use;
• Installation is reversible, the standard parts can be refitted.
