Downpipes for the Audi RS6 C8 and the RS7 Sportback with the 4.0 TFSI EA825 biturbo V8. They are the first section after the turbochargers, which is where exhaust gas is hottest and back pressure matters most.

What changes

Wider, smoothly bent pipes let the turbochargers unload faster, so spool and throttle response change before anything is heard. Downpipes are the part with the clearest effect on power of the whole exhaust, since everything behind them works with what this section lets through.

Material and build

T309 (1.4828) stainless steel, rated for continuous temperatures above 600 C, hand TIG welded in Sundern, Germany. The pipes are developed on 3D laser scans of the original parts and bolt to the factory flanges.

Before you order

• ECU programming is normally required after fitting;
• Capristo supplies the parts for off-road and track use;
• They combine with the Capristo exhaust system for the same car;
• Installation is reversible, the standard downpipes can be refitted.
