Downpipes for the Audi RS Q8 with the 4.0 TFSI EA825 biturbo V8. They are the first section after the turbochargers, where exhaust gas is hottest and back pressure has the clearest effect on power.

Two versions

• With 250 cell sport cats (02AU11903015);
• Catless (02AU11903007).

The catted version keeps a working catalyst in the system; the catless pipes are the track option and remove it entirely.

What changes

Wider, smoothly bent pipes let the turbochargers unload faster, so spool and throttle response change before anything is heard. Everything behind this section works with what the downpipes let through, which is why they matter more than the rear silencer for power.

Material and build

T309 (1.4828) stainless steel, rated above 600 C, hand TIG welded in Sundern, Germany, developed on 3D laser scans of the original parts.

Before you order

• ECU programming is normally required after fitting;
• Capristo supplies the parts for off-road and track use;
• They combine with the Capristo exhaust system for the same car;
• Installation uses the original flanges and is reversible.
