Race downpipes for the Ferrari 296 GTB and GTS. The pipes replace the factory catalyst section behind the turbochargers of the 3.0 V6 hybrid with straight, catless race pipes - the freest flowing option Capristo offers for this car.

What it changes

• The largest single drop in back pressure available on the 296, since the catalysts are the tightest point of the standard system;
• A much harder, more direct V6 note, audible from idle rather than only under load;
• Less weight than the OEM catalyst section.

Material and heat protection

1.4828 (AISI T309) stainless steel, manually TIG welded and hand polished in Sundern, Germany, with hand-crafted metal heat jackets. On a hybrid with high voltage components packed around the engine, keeping exhaust heat inside the pipe is not optional.

Before you order

• Catless pipes are intended for track use; running without catalysts on public roads is restricted in most markets;
• The OBD Wizard Pro is required to keep the check engine light off;
• If a catalyst has to stay in the system, Capristo offers 100 and 250 cell sport cat downpipes for the same car;
• Bolt-on fit to the OEM flanges and mounting points.
