Carbon air intake side panels for the Ferrari 488 GTB, left and right, in gloss or matt lacquer.

What it is

The panels line the side intakes ahead of the rear wheels. On the 488 these intakes are large and deep, so the surface inside them is visible from several metres away and a plastic panel there is the detail that gives the car away as standard.

How the carbon is made

Prepreg layers are hand-laid into Capristo's own moulds, cured in an autoclave or press and lacquered by hand, in the same weave the car manufacturer uses. The pattern therefore continues without a break into the factory carbon on the mirrors, engine bay or diffuser if the car already has it.

• One part number per finish: LG gloss, LM matt;
• The set covers the left and right side;
• Mounting hardware is included and the factory fixing points are used;
• The intake cross-section is unchanged, so engine and brake cooling stay as designed;
• Listed for the 488 GTB; the Spider and Pista have their own side treatment.
