Carbon rear cover frame for the Alfa Romeo 4C. The frame surrounds the centre-exit exhaust and is the second carbon element of the Capristo 4C package, next to the rear diffuser.

What it is

A full carbon panel that replaces the painted frame around the exhaust outlet. Together with the diffuser it turns the centre of the rear end into carbon, which is where the eye goes first on this car.

How the carbon is made

Produced in house at the Capristo factory in Sundern, Germany, with the fabric laid by hand and cured in an autoclave or press. Shipping weight is around 6 kg including packaging, which gives an idea of how little the part itself weighs.

Why it matters on this car

The 4C is built around a carbon monocoque, so carbon on the outside is consistent with what the car already is rather than an add-on. The frame also sits directly in the hot zone around the pipes, where paint ages fastest.
