TurboSystems is a turbocharger manufacturer based in Vilnius, Lithuania. The company has worked with turbos since 1995. It started out repairing and remanufacturing turbochargers, then moved on to developing its own hybrid solutions and compressor wheels machined from solid billet (Machined From Solid, or MFS).
Today, TurboSystems builds solutions for road cars as well as for drag, drift, time attack and other motorsport builds.
How TurboSystems Differs from a Standard Turbo
TurboSystems specializes in hybrid turbos and upgraded turbochargers, which can significantly increase engine output without forcing you to switch to a fully custom turbo.
In many cases, the stock turbocharger architecture is used as the base, while its internals are upgraded: larger compressor and turbine wheels, modified housings, a reinforced bearing system, new shafts, and high-speed balancing.
This approach produces a hybrid turbo that keeps a near-factory fitment while flowing significantly more air.
For many vehicles, this means you can keep the factory turbo location, exhaust manifold, downpipe, intake and most of the engine's existing hardware. Solutions like this are often called bolt-on, meaning they install with minimal changes to the stock setup.
Depending on the specific turbocharger model, TurboSystems uses:
- Larger MFS / billet compressor wheels
- Larger turbine wheels
- New shafts
- Reinforced bearing assemblies
- Ceramic ball bearing systems on selected versions
- CNC-machined housings
- VSR high-speed balancing
The exact design depends on the engine, the target power and the version of the turbo you choose.
That is why, when choosing a hybrid turbo, it isn't enough to go by the Stage 1, Stage 2 or Stage 3 label alone. You need to consider the design of the specific turbocharger and the goals of your build.
TurboSystems for BMW
BMW is one of the largest lines in the TurboSystems catalog.
The manufacturer offers turbochargers for modern gasoline engines as well as earlier gasoline and diesel platforms. The range includes solutions for the B48, B58, S58, S63, N57, M57, B57, B47, N47 and other BMW engines.
The modern B58, S58 and S63 platforms hold a special place, as they are widely used in builds with substantially increased power. B58 solutions are relevant not only for BMW M Performance models but also for the Toyota GR Supra.
TurboSystems for Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Skoda and SEAT
Another major TurboSystems line covers Volkswagen Group vehicles, including Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Skoda and SEAT.
The catalog features hybrid and upgraded turbochargers for gasoline and diesel engines, from early 1.8T and 1.9/2.0 TDI units to modern EA888 2.0 TFSI/TSI, EA855 2.5 TFSI, EA824 4.0 TFSI and EA897 3.0 TDI engine families, among others.
This makes it possible to find a solution for builds based on the Golf GTI, Golf R, Audi S3 or Cupra, as well as for more powerful platforms such as the Audi RS3, TT RS, RS6, RS7 and S8.
TurboSystems for Mercedes-AMG
The TurboSystems catalog includes a dedicated Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG line.
The manufacturer offers solutions for the M176, M177 and M178, as well as for earlier AMG platforms, the M133 and M157, and for the OM642 diesel.
