Mercedes-AMG C63 S: Stage 2 on the M177
Hot-vee turbochargers, 700 hp, and the real question — what to do about the gearbox.
The M177 carries its turbochargers inside the vee. It is an elegant layout, but removing them means dismantling half the engine bay — so these projects are done in one pass: once you are in there, you fit everything.
Why Stage 2 and not Stage 1
On a map alone this engine gives around 620 hp, and those are honest numbers. Past that the turbochargers are the limit, and half-measures make no economic sense: the labour to reach them is identical.
Transmission
The stock MCT survives 700 hp, but not for long and only with a gentle right foot. On this build we replaced the clutch pack and recalibrated line pressures — without that, talking about power is pointless.
